Each year, the CHI St. Alexius Health - Bismarck Foundation provides scholarships to students and/or employees pursuing a degree in healthcare in our region. The Foundation is accepting applications for the following continuing education scholarships:

Gay Wallentine Memorial Scholarship
The Gay Wallentine Memorial Scholarship was established May 18, 1990 to provide financial assistance to eligible nursing students. It was setup by the family in memory of Gay Wallentine, former director of Critical Care Services at CHI St. Alexius Health. She died suddenly in February of 1990. Preference is given to nursing students pursuing a BSN or MSN who are residents of North Dakota and interested in working at CHI St. Alexius Health. - $1,500

Brita Eriksen Memorial Scholarship
The Brita Eriksen Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Johan Eriksen in memory of his wife, Brita. The scholarship is for students attending health education programs conducted by or associated with CHI St. Alexius Health or a St. Alexius associate funding healthcare related continuing education while employed at CHI St. Alexius. Such programs may include Radiology, Medical Technology, Anesthesiology and Respiratory Therapy. - $1,500

Why Giving Matters

Every gift, no matter the size, makes a tangible difference at St. Alexius Foundation. Gifts from donors are funding programs and services that improve patient care. As a result, CHI St. Alexius Bismarck is able to provide life-saving services to adults and children from throughout our region.

No two St. Alexius donors are exactly alike. They come in different ages, from different parts of the region and from a variety of economic backgrounds. Some are patients, some have had a family member or friend who received exceptional care at St. Alexius and some are community members contributing to ensure exceptional care is available close to home.

But they each have one thing in common: Benefactors keep St. Alexius at the leading edge of medicine.
